Cocktail Competition

The inaugural Straind & Served Cocktail Competition: Dia de los Muertos Edition featured bartenders from Vancouver’s favourite libation stations including Bao Bei, Keefer Bar, and Blackbird Bar.

This elimination-style competition brought cannabis to a new audience with the addition of Straind Bitters as a key ingredient. The crafty mixologists used these terpene-inspired bitters to create tequila-based cocktails, ultimately leading to a win for Jared Fontaine from Bao Bei.

Root Creative developed the concept, led the event planning, logistics and execution including sourcing a DJ and photographer, and assisted with event branding and promotion. Great tunes and good vibes were led by DJ EVO, and the 100+ person magic was captured by Brandon Artis.
